Throughout the years, the crane and transport world underwent a lot of changes. One of them is the weight of the vehicles, it should become less, preferably not more than 12 tonnes every axle. That means that a four axle crane can’t weigh more than 48 tonnes. A solution can be to add a three axle ballast trailer, but then ballast and outrigger pads are needed. The first versions of the LTM 1090 had a crane, which moved on five axles. The crane had a boom section of 40 meters and it was possible to add a jib. These days, the Mammoet LTM 1090-4.2 has four axles, with 60 meters boom sections and the possibility for a 16 meters high jib.
The collectible of the Mammoet LTM 1090-4.2 is available in the 1:50 scale and is produced by WSI Models. This collectible will be delivered in a Mammoet box and a certificate is included.
